You may find an easier way to take care of some of the aspects of this conversion. This is of course not the only way to do this but it is the way that we did it. Yes, the conversion is done and the car is running. We still have to tune the carb a bit and the timing is off a little. But it runs. How fast? SCARY FAST.

As I progress with this website, I will include links from this page to more detailed information on each of the parts. I can assure you though that with creative engineering you will be able to do the same conversion for under $500.

Myth #1: Headers are expensive. $149 through Lane Automotive

Myth #2: Double sump oil pan: Hmmm Stock Chevy rear sump is working just fine. (Tap it LIGHTLY with a hammer anyways.) A double sump would have been better.

Myth #3: Electrical a pain. Ground everything, run one wire to the alternator and one wire to the ignition. Hook up your gages as instructed by their manufaturer. Ford used 12v & Chevy 12v. Electrical is quite simple.
